United Fashion Festival imagines a different future for fashion in which we’re all hungry for less and better!

A dress made from rye, a purse from old wallpaper and love letters to your favorite garments. From 1 April until 6 June, MAD gave the stage to 40 forward looking designers and their creations during the United Fashion Festival. The list of designers, creators, and researchers based in 9 different countries includes names such as Tom Van der Borght (BE), Marina Yee (BE) and Amélie Pichard (FR).

Through an exhibition, an experimental fashion collection and a set of talks and workshops, the festival uses the power of fashion to delight, engage, surprise, and examine what fashion can be.

You are hungry for less and better but you couldn’t join the United Fashion Festival ? Curators Aya Noël and Bénédicte de Brouwer give you a tour of the exhibition in a nutshell in this video!

The United Fashion Festival is the end result of the hard work of many people. We want to thank everyone who made the festival possible! Also a special thank you to the curators Bénédicte de Brouwer & Aya Noël and to Marie Douel for realizing the scenography.

We want to say a big thank to the seven organisations that make United Fashion. We work together to create a stronger fashion sector in Europe, by giving independent designers the tools and skills to develop their label in a world in transition :

MAD, Home of Creators and Flanders DC / for Fashion for Belgium ; Maisons de Mode for France ; Fashion Council Germany for Germany ; ModaLisboa ; Riga Fashion Week for Latvia ; Fashion Weekend Skopje for Macedonia

And we also want to say a big thank you to Creative Europe for its support. Creative Europe is the European Commission’s framework program for support to the culture and audiovisual sectors.

We are 7 fashion organisations that teamed up to cover different geographical markets in Europe and address several fashion issues. We are hungry for less and better. We believe that cooperation is the key. We are United Fashion.
