This spring, we had the honor of collaborating with the Embassy of Spain during the Fashion and Craft project “Dialogues”. Let’s delve into the fascinating world behind this initiative and meet the brilliant minds driving creativity!
Celebrating the rich craft and fashion inspired by Talavera de la Reina ceramics and its people, the project features incredibly talented artists.
The presentation, “Dialogues,” is a beautiful fusion of fashion and craftsmanship. It showcases the collective effort between Macedonian fashion designers and skilled potters, unveiling a captivating capsule collection inspired by the intricate patterns of ancient Spanish Talavera de la Reina ceramics.
Let’s meet our exceptional participants:
– Robert Ivanovski: Inspired by the traditional pottery-making methods of Talavera de la Reina and El Puente del Arzobispo, Robert’s collection boasts hues of blue and milky white, adorned with hand-painted prints reminiscent of Helechos y Golondrinas motifs (ferns and swallows).
– Magdalena Tanevska: Ethnologist and anthropologist turned fashion designer, Magdalena’s creations pay homage to Talavera de la Reina’s rich history. Using recycled denim and her signature patchwork techniques, she breathes new life into traditional designs.
– Hristina Krsteska: A visual artist and ceramic enthusiast, Hristina brings the spirit of Talavera de la Reina to life through her hand-painted pottery. Collaborating with Magdalena, her designs feature intricate flora and fauna motifs, capturing the essence of Spanish ceramics.
– Tatjana and Borche Bogoevski: Inspired by the theme of “Spring” and Talavera’s iconic blue-and-white motifs, Tatjana and Borche’s plates depict stylized peacock feathers, symbolizing nature’s eternal renewal.
-Aneta Popova: An embodiment of interdisciplinary art, Aneta’s creation, T1, transcends boundaries with its mixed-media expression. A true masterpiece, her plate is a tribute to nature’s vibrant colors and organic beauty. It is a large plate, which comes out of its own predetermined boundaries and communicates with the environment in its own artistic language.
